A Matter of Balance (#AMB)
Age: Adult

This class is specifically designed for older adults with the goal to reduce the fear of falling and encourage increased physical activity. Attendees will learn to view falls and fear of falling as controllable and set realistic goals for increasing physical activity. Evaluate and change the most occupied environment to reduce fall risk factors and learn simple exercises to increase their strength and balance. Learn practical coping strategies to manage mobility and balance issues, the handling of taking multiple medications, potential home hazards, and sensory deficits. Caregivers are encouraged to attend.

This course includes a chair-based exercise portion that focuses on strength, flexibility and encourages balance.
