Film Events at the JCC

In order to continue the ongoing efforts of enriching, educating, and enlightening both our Jewish and non-Jewish community members, the JCC now offers a variety of year-round film screenings that are not part of our annual Jewish Film Festival. These film screenings have included a red carpet premier of a local film, a screening of a film accompanied by a performance from the San Antonio Symphony, a film that accompanied an art exhibit, and films related to Jewish holidays, such as Sukkot, Holocaust Remembrance Day, and our very own Week of Israel Celebration. The Holzman Auditorium has a state-of-the-art sound system that makes each of these unique film experiences unforgettable.

Additionally, in conjunction with Golden Manor Jewish Senior Services, the JCC offers senior adults the opportunity to watch films at the J twice a month - at 1pm on the first and third Thursdays. This film series, titled Silver Cinema, often includes screenings of past Jewish Film Festival films, in addition to a variety of other films with Jewish content. Screenings are held in the Holzman Auditorium; popcorn and coffee are served.
