NOVA Youth Performance Troupe
Our NOVA Youth Performance Troupe exposes young performers to the fun of acting, singing, and dancing in a friendly environment. It is a great program to help students prepare for our more intense STARZ Youth Performance Troupe! NOVA is open to JCC Members in second through fourth grade. Rehearsals are held Fridays from 4:30pm to 5:45pm in the Dance Studio. Performances take place at the end of each semester in the Holzman Auditorium.
This spring, NOVA will produce The Real Story of Little Red Riding Hood!
Book by Judy Wolfman
Music and Lyrics by David Reiser
Everyone has listened to the immortal yarn of Little Red Riding Hood and a hungry wolf. But it’s rare we get a chance to hear the infamous Wolf’s point of view of this popular story. In this hilarious musical, however, our compassionate and sympathetic beast is understandably upset. He has been maligned for generations because of the well-known children’s parable. Determined to defend his own good intentions, he reveals Red Riding Hood’s real nature...rarely shown to the outside world. With an abundance of toe-tapping tunes, this side-splitting cuddly tale will show that there are two sides to every story.
NOVA will meet beginning Friday, Jan. 8 from 4:30-5:45pm. Class will not meet Mar. 18, Apr. 22, or Apr. 29. Performances will be held Saturday, May 21 at 7pm and Sunday, May 22 at 2pm in the Holzman Auditorium. Tickets $5 each.
