The JCC is your home away from home where we continue to strive to provide you with programs and services that meet your cultural, educational, and recreational needs. Member Get a Member Referral Program (MGM)

When a new member becomes part of the J and mentions your name as their reference on their application, you'll receive a $50 credit* applied to your membership dues. Spread the news about the J and enjoy the benefits!

Checking into the JCC: By Key Card or App!

JCC Members, their Guests, and Visitors coming to the JCC/Campus must check-in at the Central Information Desk, located in the center of the Main Level Lobby, before proceeding to the lower or upper levels of the building.

JCC Member check-in is easy with the Membership Key Card provided to you upon joining the J: simply scan your card at the Central Information Desk and you’ll be on your way. Better yet, download the JCC App! All other visitors to the Campus should be prepared to provide ID to access Campus facilities.

Bringing A Guest to the JCC?

The Barshop JCC welcomes members and their guests!  Guest passes can be purchased at the Central Information Desk (CID). We ask that a member accompany their guest at all times and check in at CID before heading downstairs to start their workout.  A guest waiver must be signed and minor children are to be accompanied by an adult and have a completed guest waiver signed by the accompanying adult. A guest pass is valid for the entire day.

Guest Fees:
Age 14+ :  $10 per day
Age 4 – 13 : $5 per day
Under age 4, no charge

Changes to Your Membership?

Please contact Member Services at (210) 302-6866 if you need to make any changes to your account, such as adding a member, changing your category, or sadly, cancelling your membership. Please note that cancellation does require 30-days written notice.

JCC Facility Age Requirements

Aquatics Facilities

  • When a lifeguard is on duty, Members aged 14 years or older may access the Aquatics Facilities (including Jacuzzi) without adult supervision.
  • When no lifeguard is on duty, Members aged 18 years or older may access the Aquatics Facilities (including Jacuzzi) without adult supervision.

Splash Pad

  • The Splash Pad is designed and intended for children aged 8 years and younger. No lifeguard on duty. All children must be supervised by a parent or adult 18+ at all times.

Hendin Fitness Center

  • Members aged 15 and older may utilize the Fitness Center. Members aged 13-14 years old may use the Fitness Center when accompanied and supervised by an adult, parent, or guardian.

Wulfe Gymnasium

  • Upon space availability, Members aged 11 years and older may utilize the Gymnasium. Members aged 8-10 years old may utilize the Gymnasium as long as a responsible party (adult, parent, or guardian) is on the JCC premises, has checked in with the Central Information Desk, and is available by cell phone at all times. Members aged 7 years and younger may utilize the Gymnasium when accompanied by an adult, parent, or guardian.

Sokol Tennis Courts

  • Members aged 11 years and older have full access to the Tennis Courts. Court reservation policies apply.
  • Members UNDER the age of 11 years must be accompanied by an adult. 

Training Studio

  • Members aged 15 years and older may utilize the Training Studio. Members aged 13-14 years may use the Training Studio when accompanied and supervised by an adult, parent, or guardian.

Barshop JCC Reciprocal Membership

The Barshop JCC is pleased to offer a temporary courtesy usage (upon availability) to current, active members visiting from other JCCs with the verification of a valid JCC membership. Advanced notification is required and some restrictions apply. For more information, call Member Services at (210) 302-6866 or (210) 302-6854.

Visiting Other JCCs?

Traveling for business or pleasure and interested in working out or using services at a local JCC? No problem! Many JCCs offer a reciprocal membership to out-of-towners. Before leaving town, stop by the Membership office or give us a call at (210) 302-6866 and request a “Member in Good Standing” letter to take with you. Please note, some JCCs may require a minimal guest fee and other restrictions may apply.
