Cardio Based:

Cardio classes include a variety of movements and exercises to get the heart rate pumping. Cardio strengthens the heart and lungs.

Cycle

We’re bringing road-riding indoors with this 55-minute cycle class. You will be riding over hills and racing on flats with this class designed to make you sweat. This class is intended for all fitness levels.

AquaFit

Cardio and toning class using water resistance to provide a great workout that is easy on the joints. Designed for all fitness levels.

Aqua Tai Chi

Aqua Tai Chi embraces the natural resistance of the water, while pairing breath with movement. Experience a Tai Chi warm-up, mini flow series, cardio Zen-like opportunities, and finish with floating relaxation. Appropriate for all fitness levels.

HIIT

(High Intensity Interval Training) This fun and ever changing class will feature a total body, heart pumping, aerobic and strength conditioning workout.

J-Theory HIIT

Are you ready for the best 30 minutes of your day? J-Theory Hiit is an 30 minute, High Intensity Interval Training (Hiit) class that will jumpstart your busy day. This efficient and effective class will target both cardiovascular and muscular strength/endurance.  Located in the Fitness Center, this circuit style class will utilize fitness machines, such as treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, and rowing machines as well as strength and conditioning stations. Modifications for all fitness levels are provided.

HIIT Express

Looking for a quick workout? This interval-based class is designed to tone your body, improve your endurance and clear your mind! Modifications for all fitness levels are provided.

Zumba®

Latin dance class that features exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Open to all fitness levels.

 

Total Body Conditioning

Spend 55 minutes in this athletic-based sculpting class to tone upper and lower body using resistance like hand weights, body bars and your own body weight. Finish off your workout with a challenging cardio segment to make this a complete and total body workout. Designed for all fitness levels.

 

Step

Join our fun step classes and ramp up your steady state aerobic conditioning.

Muscles in Motion

A fun class that combines low-impact cardio with light to medium strength resistance training, all set to lively music. Designed to enhance strength, balance, and core. Every movement is modifiable to challenge all fitness levels.

 

Cardio Drumming

 Drums Alive® is a research-based, dynamic, brain and body cardio class that will improve cardio function, balance, and coordination. Drumming on large balls to energetic music, either standing or sitting, is sure to boost your joy one drum beat at a time!  Appropriate for all fitness levels. This class is for everyone, regardless of dance background, experience, or fitness level.  

Strength Based:

Strength classes correct muscle imbalances, build stronger lean muscle and give you more power to perform better.

Body Pump™

Original Les Mills™  60-minute barbell class that strengthens your entire body, improves balance, builds bone density, and challenges all major muscle groups using weight-room exercises and great music.  One of the easiest classes to modify or challenge according to fitness level. Open to all fitness levels.

Body Pump Express

 Shorter in duration (but not in intensity) this 30-minute Body Pump Express class is an abbreviated version of the original barbell class that strengthens your entire body and challenges all major muscle groups using weight-room exercises and great music.  Having difficulty registering for the popular full length Body Pump class because it's sold out? Here's your chance to still get an amazing strength work-out. Members can only participate in one Body Pump class per day.

Functional Fitness

is a great workout that will train your muscles to work together and train the body for real-life movements and activities. You will build strength, stability and mobility across the body. Modifications for all fitness levels are provided. 

 

Core & Focus

This class is for participants looking for a quick, but effective 30-minute workout. Emphasizing building a solid core through various abdominal exercises, while also focusing on other muscle groups such as upper body, lower body, and stretching. All fitness levels welcome.

Flexibility & Stability Based:

These classes will help you gain flexibility and improve mobility, balance, and core strength.

Pilates

Pilates is proven to help develop optimal strength, flexibility, endurance, and posture, without building bulk or stressing your joints. The perfect complement to cardiovascular exercise, athletic training, or rehabilitation, Pilates exercises will leave you looking toned, feeling revitalized, and moving with ease.

Pilates on the Foam Roller

Join us in this class for a unique challenge to balance, strength and stability as we add the Foam Roller to the Pilates exercises. If you have your own roller, bring it with you, or rollers will be available for use during class. This class is NOT recommended or appropriate for individuals with spinal conditions or sensitivity.

Pilates Mat

This class focuses on both the classic exercises and contemporary approaches to the movement of the late Joseph Pilates. Emphasis is on developing flexibility, strength, coordination and balance by using the body's own weight, range of movement, and attention to alignment, on the exercise mat, in a variety of positions. All levels are welcome to the class as we find ways to apply the Pilates principles of breath awareness, connection of mind and body, and working  from the body's core with control and conviction.

Pilates Mat Fusion Core

Similar to Mat Pilates, this style has a deep focus on the core and emphasizes moves that will tone, stretch, and elongate muscles.

Pilates Plus

Pilates Plus-Get ready to mix things up in this Pilates class that adds light weights to the mix! We’ll start with energizing standing moves and then take it down to the mat for core-strengthening exercises. You'll work on balance, strength, and flexibility while toning your whole body. Whether you're new to Pilates or a regular, this class will leave you feeling stronger, more balanced, and totally refreshed!

Full Body Pilates Mat

The emphasis of this class is developing flexibility, strength, coordination and balance by using the body's own weight, range of movement, and attention to alignment, on the exercise mat, in a variety of positions. All levels are welcome to the class as we find ways to apply the Pilates principles of breath awareness, connection of mind and body, and working  from the body's core with control and conviction.

Barre

This class is designed to tone up your entire body. Using Pilates principles to a rhythmic beat, you will be sure to feel the burn in this fun workout environment. Feel free to participate in bare feet or socks with grips. Open to all fitness levels.

Barre Above®

Barre Above mixes the latest exercise science with the classic Lotte Burke method (the origin of Barre), giving you a fun blend of ballet, Pilates, yoga, and strength training in every workout. It’s designed for all fitness levels, ages, and body types, with options to help beginners feel great from the start while keeping Barre lovers challenged.

Barre Blast

Enjoy a total body workout that blends ballet, pilates, and yoga into an effective class of sweat and smiles. Barre blast lengthens and strengthens your muscles, while still remaining gentle on the joints.  This format uses hand weights, pilates ball, barre, and mat. Please feel free to participate in bare feet or socks with grips. All fitness levels welcome.

Barre HIIT

This 30 minute class is designed to tone up your entire body. Using Pilates principles to a rhythmic beat, you will be sure to feel the burn in this fun, effecient  workout environment, using the Express HIIT circuit format. All movements may be modified for every fitness level.

Fit Fusion

Fit Fusion: A blend of balance challenges, strength training, with plenty of core work utilizing the barre, free weights, and/or The Bender Ball. All movements may be modified to fit any fitness level.

Yoga

We offer various types of yoga styles here at the J! We have something for everyone!

Yoga Flow

A multi-level class recommended for those who have some previous experience and wish to deepen their Yoga practice along with increasing strength and physical conditioning. Modifications, variations and correct use of props are included to help Integrate:  mind/body work, breathing practices, increases in flexibility, and balance challenges. Join us for variety in sessions that are unique from class to class in a movement practice that flows from pose to pose, using the breath to find safe body alignment and your mind/muscle connection!

Yoga Focus

This class is for all levels, including those new to Yoga, and encompasses a variety of yoga styles with the emphasis on moving safely into each pose, allowing time to make needed adjustments and utilize supportive props. Class themes can include a therapeutic concentration on specific areas of the body, exploration of helpful breathing techniques, yogic approaches to decrease stress and encourage restful sleep, and even occasional movement celebration with a Yin Yoga Dragon Dance! Bring your mat, your sense of humor, and an open attitude to celebrate the end of your week with us!

Hatha Yoga

General stretching, restoration poses and breathing techniques that balance the body and mind. Good for people who are not active and extremely active.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is an expression of Asana, which is the third limb of Yoga. It is a slow movement practice that promotes healing from the inside out. In Yin Yoga, muscles are engaged to move into a particular pose, then held for an extended time by relaxing the muscles which builds pressure within the joints, bones, and collagen throughout the body.  This pressure realigns the joints, stimulates new collagen within the joints and body, helps to break apart scar tissue, increases blood circulation, and reduces inflammation.  Focus is on deep, slow relaxed breathing. Each class consists of about five different poses.

Yoga Fusion

Yoga Fusion combines yoga stretches and poses, that pairs breath with movement, along with the practice of Tai Chi’s balance in motion. The class will also include cardio Zen-like opportunities, and relaxation. This class is designed to embrace the mental and physical benefits of the combined practices. Leave in a blissful state of calm. All fitness levels invited to participate.

Stretch & Roll

This 30 minute, dynamic Stretch & Roll Class involves active movements that stretch the muscles and joints to increase range of motion as it strengthens the muscles around the joints to help prevent injuries. It also activates the nervous system and helps with balance. We will also utilize the foam roller to loosen the muscles, release toxins, and increase flexibility. This class is suitable for all levels of fitness.

Fit 4 Life

This low intensity class helps you focus on strength, balance, and coordination from a seated position using light hand weights, resistance bands, and Pilates balls. Specific for seniors with mobility challenges.
