Emily PasterJewish cooks, even casual ones, are proud of the history of preserved foods in Jewish life, from the time of living in a desert two millennia ago to the era in which Jews lived in European ghettoes with no refrigeration during the last century. Emily’s book includes recipes such as Queen Esther’s Apricot-Poppyseed Jam, Slow Cooker Peach Levkar, and Pear Butter as well as savory items like Pickled Carrots Two Ways, and Lacto-Fermented Kosher Dills. Emily also describes how you can use your preserves during Jewish holidays.

This event will feature a hands-on demonstration with the author with a take-away treat for attendees. Guests can also expect a presentation, Q & A, book sale, and opportunity for book signing with the author.
