Maccabi is a week-long experience that gives youth 13-16 years (as of July 31 the Games year) old the opportunity to meet other Jewish teens from Jewish communities in the United States and worldwide. Beyond the athletic competition, the experience helps to foster Jewish identity. Participants stay with Jewish host families and take part in evening social events, including a night with their host family as well as Day of Caring and Sharing. Teens participate in either an individual sport, such as Bowling, Golf, Table Tennis, Tennis, or Swimming, or for team sports, such as Girls Volleyball, Boys Basketball and Baseball, or Boys and Girls Soccer.
