The JCC offers opportunities for children to culturally enrich their lives, specifically on the stage. These youth theatre classes are perfect for anyone stepping on stage for the very first time or for the seasoned performer, looking for another opportunity to shine. Theatre classes are proven to be good for physical, artistic, personal, and social development, as well as increased self-confidence. This Fall our programs will look a bit different than normal. While this page describes what we usually offer, this fall, we will be offering different versions of these programs including virtual options.
For more information on any youth theatre programs, contact Rachel Rustin Henson at 210-302-6969.
(Ages 3 – Pre-K)
Does your child have an active imagination and enjoy putting on plays or preforming for the family? If yes, then Drama Rama is the class for your budding performer.
Youth this age have imagination to spare. What a better way to express themselves than on stage in the spotlight. This class is great preparation before heading to our NOVA Youth Troupe program!
(Grades 2-4) | JCC Member Exclusive Program
NOVA allows young performers to experience the fun of acting, singing and dancing in a friendly environment. Performances take place at the end of each semester in the Holzman Auditorium. It is a great program to help students hone their acting skills and prepare for our more intense STARZ Youth Performance Troupe!
STARZ is a continuation of our NOVA program, giving young performers the opportunity to further develop their acting, singing, and dancing skills. Whether you are interested in trying out theatre for the first time, or you are experienced on stage, STARZ is the group for you!
