Resumption of Services

For the Safety of our Members and Staff: We are counting on our Members to self-screen before coming to the JCC. When you are not feeling well, are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19, or have been exposed to someone with those symptoms, PLEASE STAY HOME. We will be happy to welcome you back once you are symptom-free and feeling better!

Current Facility Hours

Beginning May 19, 2020:

The Fitness Center & the Pool (Lap Swim Only) will be open: 5:30am-8:15pm, 5:30am-5:40pm – Monday-Thursday, 5:30am-5:40pm – & 8am-5:40pm – Saturday-Sunday
The Tennis Complex will be open: 8am-7:45pm – Monday-Thursday & 8am-6pm – Friday-Sunday

With local restrictions now being reduced, we are creating a series of modified schedules and best practices to resume services at our fitness center, swimming pool, and tennis courts that will provide adult members with an opportunity to resume select recreational and fitness activities under new health and safety guidelines provided by local public and health authorities.

 

We realize that these guidelines are different and more stringent than what you are used to, but hope you will understand that they are necessary in order to provide our members with as safe environment as possible for them to return. We Thank You in Advance for your cooperation, flexibility, understanding, and patience.

 

General Practices: Until Further Notice

For the Health and Wellbeing of our JCC Members, Thank You in advance for acknowledging and following these new practices:

  • To access sports and recreation facilities, members will need to reserve a specific time slot in advance via a new Online Reservation Platform.
  • Time slots will be set for a specific amount of time per facility. 
  • Only one reservation per facility per day. 
  • Babysitting services will not be available; children under 16 are not permitted entry into the building at this time (unless enrolled in a childcare program)
  • Members should arrive no earlier than 5 minutes prior to reservation. We recommend you stay in your vehicle until that time.
  • Members will access the facility through the Main Entrance (NW Military side near flag poles). All other entrances will be closed.
  • Members must wear a mask upon entry and in common spaces, sanitize hands, practice physical distancing, and be prepared to have their temperature taken.
  • Members will be asked to self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms and should avoid entering the facility when symptoms exist or if they have been exposed to someone who has symptoms or has tested positive for Covid-19. 
  • Temperature must be 100 degrees or below for admittance.
  • All Members must check in with key card or Mobile App.
  • Physical distancing and hand sanitizing practices will be communicated via signage and staff instruction.
  • Access to equipment is subject to physical distancing guidelines and cleaning protocols.
  • Showers and dressing areas will be closed; locker room access will be limited to restroom and sink area only.
  • Water bottle fillers will be available; drinking fountains will be deactivated.
  • Be prepared to exit promptly at the end of your workout and exit the building promptly.
  • Guests are prohibited at this time.
  • Cancel tennis reservations online or by calling 210-302-6820.
  • Failure to adhere to JCC protocols may result in a suspension of services.

Staff Practices

  • Staff wear masks in all public areas.
  • Staff’s temperature is taken each day upon arrival.
  • High-touch areas are cleaned and sanitized throughout the day and over­night.
  • Staff clean each piece of equipment between usages.
  • Staff closely manage and monitor member usage to ensure physical distancing guidelines are being followed.

Additional protocols specific to individual areas (listed below) will also be in place. Please familiarize and yourself with these practices to prepare for your visit.

JCC Fitness Center- Adults only

  • Fitness Center reservations may be made ONE day in advance. Total workout time is 1 hour and 10 minutes.
  • Members are encouraged to wear face masks while working out except during vigorous exercise.
  • Consider wearing athletic gloves as an extra precaution.
  • Bring your own work out towel.
  • Practice Physical Distancing while working out, stay 6 feet apart.
  • Access to equipment is subject to physical distancing guidelines and cleaning protocols.
  • Cardio workouts - 30 minutes maximum.
  • Free weights – check in with Fitness Attendant to sign up for equipment.
  • Clean and wipe down equipment following your workout; staff will follow-up with a second cleaning.
  • Locker room access is limited to restroom and sink area only.

JCC Lap Swim- Adults only

  • The Pool will be available for Lap Swimming Only
  • Lap swim reservations may be made up to ONE day in advance.
  • Practice Physical Distancing; stay 6 feet apart.
  • Bring your own towels and pool equipment.
  • Total workout time is 1 hour and 10 minutes.
  • Enter the pool from the East Side of Pool where chairs have been set up for each lane.
  • Locker room access is limited to restroom and sink area only.
  • Be prepared to finish promptly at the end of your reserved time and exit the facility.
  • NOTE: The pool will be closed during and 30 minutes following inclement weather/lightning.

JCC Tennis Practices:

  • Tennis reservations may be made up to TWO days in advance.
  • Only one reservation per facility per day. Tennis time slots are set for 1 hour 30 minutes of court time per day. Only one reservation is allowed/needed per group. 
  • Members must check-in at Tennis Clubhouse with key card or Mobile App. Aside from check-in, clubhouse will not be available for socializing or gathering.
  • Members must wear masks, practice physical distancing, sanitize hands, and be prepared to have temperature taken upon entering the clubhouse. You will need to answer these two questions:
    • Do you have any symptoms of COVID-19?
    • Have you been around anyone with symptoms of COVID-19?
  • Temperature must be 100 degrees or below for admittance.
  • Guests and non-playing spectators will not be allowed.
  • Stay at least 6 feet apart from players. Avoid physical contact including shaking hands or a high fives.
  • Players should stay on their side of the court, avoid changing ends, and remain apart during breaks.
  • Consider wearing athletic gloves as an extra precaution.
  • Bring your own can of balls and mark each ball with your initials.
  • Do not share racquets or any other equipment such as wristbands, grips, hats, and towels.
  • Avoid using hands to pick up the balls: Use your racquet/foot to pick up balls and hit them to your opponent. If a ball from another court comes to you, send it back with a kick or with your racquet.
  • Avoid touching court gates, fences, benches, etc. if you can. 
  • Avoid touching your face especially after handling a ball, racquet or other equipment.
  • Clean and wipe down your equipment, including racquets and water bottles.
  • Access restrooms through the outside doors.
  • Be prepared to exit promptly at the end of your reserved time and exit the courts through the turnstile.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly or use a hand sanitizer after coming off the court.
  • Cancel reservations online or by calling 210-302-6833 10 hours in advance of scheduled court time.
  • After three (3) no-shows or lack of cancellation, reservation privileges may be suspended.
